Arrested today due to claims of historical sexual offenses.

Jesus Christ. Pretty soon our prisons will be to separate people who haven't molested anyone.*

Probably the first from 'my' generation of well knowns DJs, from the 90s onwards.

*Not saying he has.

I suspect this will be another Dave Lee Travis type thing - someone well over 18 who he aleegedly slapped the arse of many years ago. The other celebs banged up in recent times all, allegedly, did this or that with someone under 18. It must be awful to try and prove your innocence, with the media doing stories about you all the time, I think there is an argument for the accused to have anonymity until proven guilty.

Yep. Any really emotive crimes like rape or sexual abuse should mean automatic immunity until a guilty verdict is found.

But he's a bloke so he gets his name trawled through the mire, his reputation and future employment chances ruined and he hasn't even been convicted of anything yet....

The accuser get anonymity for life even if it turns out she's a total fruitcake who made it all up.

If the accused gets anonymity then the accuser should be named if her allegations are found to be untrue. Why should the stench of no smoke without fire only be attached to him?

Argument there is that it will deter possible victims from coming forward. But that has to be balanced against the damage done to possibly an innocent man.

For the record, I think Neil Fox is a total arsehole but I don't believe that he's a sexual predator.

Or even if they've been using their 'traumatic experience' as part of their stand-up comedy routine for years.

Shocking.

Anonymity all round.
