And over in Northern Ireland the police are threatening skinny dippers with inclusion on the sex offenders register. Fucking pathetic.

We are being overwhelmed by a tidal-wave of prudery, with the odious and evidence-free Johnson and his fatuous out of control organisation on the one hand, to the inappropriate use of the sex offenders register as shown above and in the criminalising of teenagers for sexting on the other, with soon to be passed though undefined anti rape porn legislation, the totally unnecessary 'extreme' porn laws and Dines and her pathetic diatribes against adult sexuality punching above her weight in the middle. Welcome to the 1950's.

It is called "Liberal Fascism". Look it up. We (the new world odour aka American Ultra Conservative Bible Bashers) are stopping you doing things for your own safety. I predict the snoopers are already in league with the ISPs and have files on every single person who ever watched porn....

You use 'liberal fascism' and then say these liberals are 'ultra conservative'.

I suggest you look up the word 'oxymoron'.

Interesting article Dynatech; the author concludes we British are too bashful to
have a serious, open debate about sex. I would agree, but add the British also
seem quite happy to let political correctness control their lives. Yes, I know
we whinge about it, you probably hate PC, so do I, but the Brits do bugger all
about it, and in the U.K. it has got to ridiculous levels with men getting
charged for sex offences that happened 40-50 years ago, their lives ruined in
Court, even if they win, while their persecutors are allowed complete anonymity.
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
A Hungarian woman friend of mine the other day asked if she would be safe
if she vacationed in England. "But aren`t most Englishmen secret paedophiles ?"
she asked. I tried to reassure her. Now this sex and minors debate totally
obsesses the British media - yet in the rest of Europe it is national non-news.
By which I mean it happens occasionally Press-wide but is not blown out of
proportion to all other news. I could say the same thing about date rape;
certainly in central Europe rape is a very minor piece of news. Let me be
clear - I am not defending rape or paedophilia - simply saying that they exist
within the framework of all crimes, not pushing every other crime of violence
off the news pages, or need prosecutors to search back 50 years to
fill some vital requirement to punish doddery old wrong-doers who might
have been naughty lads in the Swinging Sixties.

Clearly Argie you have just read something about " liberal fascism", probably on some wacko Tea Party-type site and in your typically, gullible manner have swallowed it whole.

It is a meaningless phrase.

Definition of liberal
Willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one?s own; open to new ideas e.g. open to gay marriage etc.

Definition of fascism
Fascism emphasises a belief in the supremacy of one national or ethnic group, a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach.

Put together and the phrase is not relevant to this thread.........obviously.

I know what the term 'liberal fascism' is. It is not 'liberal' and 'fascist' put together that is the oxymoron. As George Orwell said, "The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies "something not desirable." By that definition, I have no problem with the fascist accusation.

No, it is your statement that 'liberal fascists' are in fact 'ultra conservative' that is the oxymoron.

From merriam-webster:

Liberalism: : belief in the value of social and political change in order to achieve progress.

Conservatism: : belief in the value of established and traditional practices in politics and society : dislike of change or new ideas in a particular area

You see? One is about change, the other about keeping the status quo. One is looking to the future the other looking back to the past.

Therefore, I cannot see how a liberal - even a fascist liberal - can be ultra-conservative.

They are just words and phrases put together by some right-wing nutjobs to scare dopey Americans. Ultra-conservative = nutters. Add the fascist tag onto 'liberal' and you've got middle america running scared of anything that is 'left'. Job done. Of course, only idiots actually believe it and probably never even know the definition of those scary looking words.
