Shit! Now I feel old. Must have only been in his fifties????? Loved the young ones, bottom and Lord Flashheart.

Whenever I think of politicians fiddling their expenses I think of Rik playing Alan b'stard in the New statesman. One of the vilest comic creations of all time.

B'stard was too close for comfort. RIP a very funny man.

Worked with him on a corporate once many years ago. Seemed a thoroughly decent bloke and very funny. Sad loss. I presume his death may in some way be linked to him quad bike crash in 1998. Friends of his have been saying his health was never the same again.

Sad that almost anyone should die in their 50s but apart from The New Statesman (written by the team that brought you Birds of a Feather), very unfunny. Alternative to comedy, I think they called it.

The guy had one Schtick which was shouting and then hitting some else with comedy sound effects.

Loving the media luvvies all outpouring about his talent and then que clips of him in young ones shouting and black adder where his shouting again.

Saying that he did do an advert and was shouting in that as well.

He did some decent straight acting in Rik Mayall Presents...... Not oscar winning stuff, but Dancing Queen with Helena Bonham-Carter was a decent love story.
