What has ex Vice President Tony Blair aka moneybags done that is so bad that his conversations with Bush are being edited i.e. altered for public consumption? Do they mention his "alleged" $6m pay cheque from a well known US bank who have strong ties to Israel? Did he lie to the entire House of Commons? In the interests of the many thousands who died, and are still dying in post Saddam Iraq the truth must be told.

Ask David Cameron and his Cabinet Secretary. Chilcot has been negotiating with the government re. the potential release of this information.
As much as I deplore Blair's involvement in launching an illegal war in Iraq, I suspect he has had minimal, if any, part in the negotiation that has been going on between Chilcot and the current government.

I somehow doubt that. More likely the State Department have been wagging their fingers etc etc....

I think you are probably right. The link suggests British government concerns about the effect on Anglo-American relations.
However I would guess that Cameron would be worried about setting a precedent and revealing all about Cabinet papers, in case it comes back to bite his own government at some time in the future.

As you can see.......dishonest Dave spreads the same lie that the war was illegal, and making lots of honest people war criminals with his libelous claims.
If someone came on here describing a known Islamic extremist a 'terrorist' or 'murderer' before any trial, he'd be shouting them down in a rage.
Either it's a presumption of innocence for all, or none at all.
He seems to be a hypocrite and proud of it.

David:
You must be aware that no government has access to the private papers of a previous government. If these papers are being suppressed, it is because Blair wants it that way, not Cameron.

Well, I give you 10 out of 10 for persistence, Samuel.
"As you can see.......dishonest Dave spreads the same lie that the war was illegal, and making lots of honest people war criminals with his libelous claims"
Bring a libel case against Kofi Annan and the umpteen international lawyers who have stated that the Iraq war is illegal using the same language as me. I notice that in your umpteen posts screaming about my views on this topic, you never address all the legal opinions that state the "Iraq war was illegal".
Let me know how you get on.
"If someone came on here describing a known Islamic extremist a 'terrorist' or 'murderer' before any trial, he'd be shouting them down in a rage."
A good point to put to Desmond Tutu, Kofi Annan, a few hundred international lawyers and the British Attorney General before he got leaned on and changed his view from a few days previously.
Do let me know what the result of your questioning is.
"He seems to be a hypocrite and proud of it."
Ah yes, dear Samuel. You call me a hypocrite, slimy, disingenuous, dishonest, vain, libellious, not believing what I say, using stories of murder and torture for entertainment to go with my popcorn and tell me to "fuck off".
Then you complain that I am being discourteous to you.
Self awareness never was your thing, was it Samuel?

"no government has access to the private papers of a previous government. If these papers are being suppressed, it is because Blair wants it that way, not Cameron".
I do not think this is true in this particular case.
The BBC News report states "The inquiry has been given access to full records of talks between the two leaders in the run-up to war but is being prevented by the government from publishing them in its final report, even after offering to block out sensitive parts. The UK government's grounds for refusing the request to publish the full documents and transcripts is that it could prejudice future relations with the US.
The inquiry has instead been granted permission to "disclose quotes or gists of the content" to help explain its conclusions, inquiry chairman Sir John Chilcot explained in a letter to Sir Jeremy.
If you read the letter from Chilcot to the Cabinet Office in the link I provided, Chilcott states that they have agreed to publish quotes and gists from the documentation.
I would agree that all of this is surrounded by subterfuge and smoke and mirrors, but without to quote you, Robches, "access to the private papers of a previous government" they would not be able to produce gists and quotes as Chilcot states.

As everyone can see, David uses other peoples' opinions to defend his own hypocrisy. He can talk of Kofi Annan and as many lawyers as he wants, but it doesn't take away from my point that they are wrong to declare the Iraq war as illegal unless they make it clear it is an 'opinion' they are stating, not a fact.
Presumption of innocence for everyone, or for no one.
David was wrong. If Kofi Annan stated it in the same way David did, he is wrong. If I declared someone guilty of something before a trial, I'd be wrong. If anyone did it, they'd be wrong.
He's say anything rather than admit he's wrong to save face. Pure vanity.
And, as I've already said....no name calling from me makes up for his nasty implications that I don't care about people being crushed to death. Just shows how low he will go to apologise for his nastiness.

I never new papers were sealed and not for the following governments perusal. Interesting.
