Much good it will do them... too many people have too much invested in the "European Project" to let it die its natural death.

I have a feeling this will be a reasonably short-term thing, UKIP are the in-thing at the moment, I feel that in 5 years they will have more of less disappeared.

Five years is nearly two General Elections away. Will they maintain momentum for next May?

People are becoming more and more disenchanted at their political impotence as is evidenced all across Europe where anti-EU parties have been successful.

Thing is the average joe in the street only sees negatives with being involved in Europe.......

So if we see negatives then maybe it is negative ! the people have a vote and have used it.

Well you know the old saying: If voting made a difference, they wouldn't let us do it.

Only 1 in 3 voted.

I'd wager the largest proportion of that 33% who voted were are 55.

Your post should read: "The old codgers have spoken via the ballot box.".

We need to get younger people involved in politics more or the country is doomed.

35 per cent of under 35s in France voted for the Front National... That the sort of involvement you want?

I meant over 55 obviously.

You'll have to forgive my typing errors over the last year. I've notice them too. It's since I started playing guitar again.......I think my fingers are tired. I'll have to learn to proof read more.

France's far-right demographic might be different to the UKs...........but yes. If more young people voted, we'd get a better reflection of what everyone thinks, wouldn't we? Are you arguing against younger voters exercising their right to vote?
