It's so difficult to avoid this halal shit, it should be mandatory to label foods made with this stuff, and places who serve the stuff should have to display a notice prominently.

Or even better, outlaw the stuff completely.

I virtually got laughed at the last time I was in hospital and told them I didn't want to be served halal meat.

This is called business, Cunty. I thought you were a businessman? It is about meeting the needs of your customers. According to your article, this change applies to 185 shops out of more than 1500 outlets.

I assume they have made a decision based on perceived business demand so that they can increase profits based on the number of Muslim customers near those outlets.

I have no problem with it. If they're in area where their customers are mainly Muslim, why not?

I've more a problem with the allowing of 'halal' because of the cruelty involved.

Subway state that their halal suppliers are required to stun the animals before slaughter.

If this is true, is the process of halal slaughter for Subway inherently more cruel than the standard slaughterhouse procedures?

I have to admit when I first read it I raged. I love Subway, genuinely good fast food in my opinion.

And who doesn't love the pig? A magical animal that provides us with ham, gammon, bacon, pork chops, pork loins and sausages. (and more)

But then reading it properly and not over reacting to it its like what 14% of their stores? Its nothing. I do find most places actually have two subways anyway.

Its not a major thing, yet. It will probably never be a major thing because of the rioting that would happen. People did flip out about this on twitter so its never going to be a major thing.

Now, if we can make McDonalds somehow get around that EU law that prevents them from cooking pork and beef on the same grill to bring back the McRib we might get somewhere.

Having said that i once went to ASDA with a Turkish lady and ASDA had a Halal counter. I was surprised as i only thought you could get Halal meat from local independent butchers.

This country just rolls over and panders to their every need. They don't like this, they don't like that. Every day someone somewhere is offending them.

Offended by pork, doesn't stop them selling it in their corner shops though does it?. Much the same with booze, their religion frowns upon it, still sell it to our teenagers though eh?.

Mind you, up here in Scotland their are very few of them. They are all down in England and you can fucking well keep them there.
