Boko Haram

These nut jobs must be stopped. They reportedly killed up to 59 schoolboys in February and recently abducted 200+ schoolgirls......just for going to school.

There have been the odd article about these attacks but not nearly enough. Is it because it's happening in Africa? Is it because it's happening in Nigeria where the media can't spin this as a consequence of 'western interference'?

And, I bet you can't guess which religion this group identify themselves as.

And you'll have to guess if you're reading this article on the matter because it's not mentioned.......not once. I guess the next time a Bishop is caught fucking a young lad there'll be no mention of the Bishop's religion eh? Terrible stuff, really.

Thankfully, Nick Cohen gives a more balanced view and the Guardian even put it up on the front page! A much better read and I'm glad some writers over at Guardian towers have a sense of what's important.

Why is that some say when it's one religion that it has fuck all to do with that religion but when it's another religion imply that it has everything to do with that religion...

"These nut jobs must be stopped."

Yes by the Nigerian government.

The two major religions on this planet and the people who bastardise these faiths are sad, bad and very very mad.

Yes, let's intervene in Nigeria. After all intervention worked out brilliantly in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and would have done fine in Syria if only the appeasers in the House of Commons hadn't voted against it.

Eh?

Your right David, lets just allow kids to be abducted and raped. Who cares anyway?. Right?

First reaction to hearing about young children being killed or enslaved:

1. Anger? Nope.
2. Sadness? Nope.
3. Concern? Nope.
4. Just bewilderment? Nope.
5. Anti-western point scoring? Yep!

Shameful.

Some questions for you to consider:

1. Have the invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq, and wholesale bombing of Libya been successful in terms of improving the lot of the local people?

2. If your answer to the above is Yes. Please give data to back your claim up.

3. Have the invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq and the wholesale bombing of Libya met their objectives of defeating terrorism and making British people feel safer?

4. If the answer to question 3 is yes, please explain how.

5. Given this is a war between Boko Haram and the Nigerian government, do you think this would strengthen or weaken Boko Haram if a Western army like the British one intervened?

6. If the answer is yes, then please explain how this would work in Nigeria when it doesn't appear to have worked in Afghanistan or Iraq.

7. Would it not be better if an alliance of UN forces with African forces got involved in this rather than the Christian West getting involved in, to use George Bush's phrase "a crusade"?
