I read it in the Daily Mail

To summarise "No 10 aide arrested over child porn: Police quiz 62-year-old who advised Cameron on web filters and was tipped for peerage" And for that added "Daily Mail spice and innuendo "Mr Rock was a protege of Margaret Thatcher and has held a series of senior posts in the Conservative Party. He has been close to Mr Cameron for many years. "
His filters must have had a flaw in them then..........

Of course sexual deviancy is a political issue...

Yes, one thing you can say about the Mail is that they are very consistent about their smears and innuendos whether they be Tories, particularly ones that are "close" to Cameron or Labour etc. etc.
It helps to keep the oiks in their places as well.

A more nuanced view regarding the daily mail Harriet harman non story would be this...
The harem PIE story has been doing the rounds for years in the daily mail once in while being reheated and fed again to the proles.
Pure coincidence that the story gets doled out again and within days a Tory is outed as a nonce as a daily mail exclusive.
What better way is there to slightly lessen the damage to the Tory party than first muddy the waters with trying to label the opposition as peadophiles with a non story and then release the news of your bona fide sex offender.
At least this way joe public will link all parties together rather than yet another Tory sex pest to add to the rather long list.

@Gentleman & Johnson: I thought this too.
I'd like to see it as being consistent, but Harmen may have been used to dampen the blow (and the DM come out of it looking all fair and objective). Especially given the timing of it all - dredging a story up from the 70s a week before this happens.

I thought same, especially when Tom Watson had been making the number 10 link allegations for yonks

Especially considering the kiddie fiddler in question according to the press release the guy in question asks super Dave on the 13 February "hi PM I think I better tell you that while I've been advising you on how to censor the internet I've been wanking off to pictures of little kids, can you report me to the police please"
So then they phone the police straight asking them to come and have a chat with this rather dubious moral custodian but only arrest him yesterday.

He didn't tell Cameron on 13 February and they didn't arrest him yesterday ? apart from that you are 100% correct.
