Bill Shankly made an astute observation about his beloved Tom Finney.
After a Sheffield United v Liverpool match in which Tony Currie played a blinder, Shankly was asked if he thought Currie was now as good as Finney.
"Aye, maybe," he replied. "But dinnae forget, Tommy's nearly 60 now."
