I've seen 4K material (not porn) shown on a good screen, and it looks fantastic. The images have a vibrancy and clarity that is stunning. With the cost of both the cameras and the monitors though still quite high, falling, it was only a matter of time before an adult production outfit took it up as a format. After the false start of 3D this one could have legs.



There are entry level versions coming out soon at a relatively low price considering the quality. And its thought the next Sony smart phone will shoot 4K.



To mis-quote the old ad, 'Is it live or is it 4K?' I'll have to have a play at the BSC show at the Warners studio on saturday. I wonder if they'll let me borrow one for a naughty shoot this w/e. Anybody other than OEJ and me going to the show?

Even 4K will be overtaken in the future by an even more impressive format. As soon as you buy a 4K camera another camera will be out which is even better. Where will it all end? It won't.

No-one actually needs it in a standard home environment, though. I think at standard viewing distances, you need a screen of around 85 inches to make the quality difference noticeable.

People will still buy them though! (As will I)

Prefer to see 60fps 1080p over 25/30 4k to be honest.

Yea 3D was rammed down everybodies throats and seems to have fallen flat on its face.

Must agree with everything Andy says - just back from seeing 4K footage on a state of the art Sony Screen .... blown away by it, absolutely fabulous !

Sadly, AWAW, there aren't that many people shooting adult stuff in the UK who could do it justice, though your stuff suggests you might have a good stab at it.
