What's happened to the forum?

Yes.....this one? I've not been on much the last 6 months or so but when I do I've noticed that the same posts are on the front page from last I visited 4 or 5 weeks previously. It's never been as dead as this in the 8 or 9 years I've been posting here.
So what gives?

Too many posters are immediately shot down by so called experts and the once prevalent BGAFD sense of humour has disappeared. Sam Slater wrote:

A lot of people have been away the last fortnight and not posting. People like me. I'm sure you're all pleased to hear that I'm now back and posting again! lol.

Oh I don't know. Sometimes people need shooting down when they're talking nonsense. And it's always happened on here.
Agree with you about the humour though.

Wouldn't that just mean there'd be more socialists posting?

Well, if you look at the other forums on here, it appears to me that there has been a big drop-off on number of posts across the Board.
The Promotions Forum now seems to be overwhelmingly about TV programs. And there has been a lot of complaints from posters about the way the TV posts monopolise that forum.
The BGAFD forum has dropped off too as far as I can see. A number of people active in the industry have suggested that this is due to models etc. contacting people via Twitter and other social media. I think there is a large reduction in the number of models posting on here looking for work, for example.
So I think the drop-off on the O/T forum is no more about "socialist dogma" as it is "extreme right wing dogma" or people being "shot down" as Argie would describe it. I suspect it is more about the decline in the porn biz which many long term producers etc. comment on and/or the changes in how people get in touch.
I suppose we could all try agreeing with each other to see if that improves matters. "That Nelson Mandela, what a terrorist". "Yeah, I agree, God knows why the BBC are even mentioning him". "Me too, I bet if he hadn't been black the world's press would have been condemning him"
Only joking! Honest!

I think that a lot of people got fed up with it being a forum for far left and right wing views with a surprising number of bigots, some disguising their racial hate-mongering under the guise of a friendly debate. There were also a very high number of people who unable to deal with the complete social rejection in real life for being an utter pedant and/or a bigot and brought their inadequate personalities to the OT forum to argue endlessly rather than seek therapy or go out and get blind drunk and at least TRY to pull a woman. I've just finished reading the Mark Duggan thread and am experiencing physical revulsion that anybody should seriously wish or feel great about anybody else being rendered stone dead without even an arrest, interview and trial because they already had a criminal record and a fairly petty one at that. Personally I think the cop made a split-second decision and got it completely wrong. You can hear the knuckles dragging along the ground when you read some posts here.
