Not from round there but is this really still a sticking point for friendship etc?

Don't really get why as there was never a national ballot or a General strike.

Yep, Nottinghamshire, UDM land, is still known as scab land round here, "What's it like to be a scab" is still a popular football song when the scabs come visiting, and the actual scabs who still live around here are ignored by most people, generally.

There was a poll in FourFourTwo footie magazine about which English team, supporters hated the most. Chesterfield v Mansfield was in the top five. Their supporters really hate each other.

Newcastle v Sunderland was top of the poll if i remember correctly.

Fancy the Notts miners refusing to be led into a strike by Arthur Scargill that they had not voted on. The cheek of some people, they deserve everything they get.

They were sensible enough to see through his facade as a man of the people and realise he was in the pay of the KGB.
