During one of his 'make up the policy as he goes along' interviews recently, Cameron said he wanted a situation where nothing stronger/harder/whatever would be allowed on the internet than could be bought in a Soho sex shop. How would that work except by forcing EVERY web site, adult orientated or not, to register with and submit its content to, a body like the fatuous atvod for clearance. If a site changed a few pictures or added content it would have to resubmit again and again, perhaps several times a day, at great expense and inconvenience.

even the big companies who might be able to afford the expense wouldn't go for it let alone the small ones who couldn't afford to. it's unworkable and he knows it - it will go the same way as the minimum unit pricing on alcohol and the plain packaging for cigarettes.

Not even ATVOD can effectively do that when you consider all you have to do is type the kind of thing your after in a web browser and BAM its all there for free anyway

I was using conservative with the small c.

the thing is the us and uk apparently keep track of everyone's internet surfing anyway therefore they know the sites some people are visiting - so isn't the simple answer just to take them down and take down the torrents while they are at it - if anyone can give me a reason why torrents need to exist legitimately i'm willing to listen.

As for google no one will regulate google it's too big just as no one will regulate you tube - the world's biggest copyright infringer by miles.
