T o 30 months. Far be from me to defend the old perv,he did wrong. But 30 month for an 83 year old!!!What good will come from sending him to prison for that amount of time. SureLY the shame of having is name in the papers and a huge fall from grace, coupled with a shorter sentence would have been punishment enough.

I have to agree with you on this. The obsession with harsh imprisonment demanded by some is saddening. The shame Hall has undergone plus the fact he will never be able to show his face in public again should surely be enough after the 15 months or less with remission, that he will serve.

You have to think about the trauma he gave his many victims.
He did put his hand up eventually and admit it was fair cop.
What if he molested you? Would you want him to be patted on the head by the courts and get away with it?

Ask the victims and they'll probably say it should be a LOT longer.
I personally couldn't give a toss about him and if if he rots in prison it will be no big loss.

Considering he was convicted of 14 counts which is roughly 2 months and a bit for each that sent exactly hard hitting.
Imagine how the victims/loved ones feel knowing that their lives being blighted is only considered worth 8 weeks.

I agree with what has been said, but taking into account his age plus the shame of being a celeb and the fall from grace im not sure doubling the sentence makes sense.

Which is why the victims should never be part of the equation. The crime was what it was, the victims to all intents and purposes are irrelevant.
In any case, when did the law start being dictated to by the public? More than 150 complained that the sentence wasn't long enough ? how many people complained that Jon Venables should never have been released from prison? Yet the judiciary/government ignored them...

Nah fuck that. Let him have the shame AND the prison sentence.
Sounds like he is guilty of it so it doesnt matter if he dies in prison why should he get to enjoy his last days when he got away with it for so long? He got to enjoy his career and all he reaped from it
This is the pay off
Should we let nazi war criminals enjoy their last days in sunny vineyards sitting in deck chairs because they are too old and frail?
Thats not an excuse for a crime to go unpunished...Except in certain cases I can agree with what you say but not this

Lol. Don't think you'd be saying that if someone murdered you.
