It will be interesting to see how they define what is and isn't pornographic. In the past, the concept of obscenity has taxed many a legal mind.
What concerns me most about this, however, is not that it has the potential to restrict my access to single-handed-entertainment stimulus, but that the same principles and technology could be used in future to block access to other internet content as a knee-jerk reaction to an outcry or a political whim.
For example, someone studying Middle-Eastern politics at university might want to research a history of terrorist attacks, but finds themselves blocked by a filter that has been put in place to prevent potential terrorists improving their people-killing skills.
The thing is, as the Prism and Echelon leaks have shown, the buggers are already watching everything we do, so why do they need to stop us doing some of it?

When this nonsense starts, how long will it be before "Porn" becomes "Adult content" then becomes "Offensive content"?
This is another example of how the current Westminster Government operates. Go down the quick and nasty route to solve an issue rather than taking steps that will actually not penalise responsible users.

That's exactly what this is about. It's a way of getting control of the system, porn, or child abuse pictures aren't the concern, they're just the vehicle being used to get it though.

This is about censorship. Pure and simple.
Protecting children from adult images is the default reason. However children will still be murdered or abused. Blocking certain images on the net won't make any difference to child murderers and peadophile abusers.
Members of the government also believe in cause and effect. If you see rape you will reenact rape. I've seen rape images and not raped anyone.
I've also seen people murdered, tortured and cut up on terrestrial television on a regular basis but i have also have not done this to anyone either but the government seems to that these kind of images are ok!!!

Threaten them with closure of their tax shelters and revoking their sweetheart deals with HMRC.
