Shah Shah A Go Go
Shah Shah A Go Go
Doesn't seem to be being reported very much.

I guess it is mainly because Shah dropped out of the public eye decades ago unlike many of the others who currently find themselves the subject of sex allegations.

It ticks all the lurid boxes and works in terms of the 'great man brought low' narrative arc.

Yes that Chris Denning and DLT are never off the radio. Can't switch on the telly for seeing Jim Davidson and Jimmy Tarbuck and as for Gary Glitter... always in the Top 10.

Essex Lad
Well with regard to Shah it is worth pointing out that he is a businessman rather than a DJ/celebrity and as far as I know disappeared more or less completely from the national media 30 years ago after his dispute with the print unions.
As for Denning as far as I am aware he has had little press. I can't recall reading anything much about the guy.
DLT was still working for BBC local radio until about 5 or so years ago. Gary Glitter was still performing and selling albums in the early years of 2000 and stayed in the public eye as a result of his child offences in the Far East. Jim Davidson was performing live, doing charity work for the armed forces and appearing on TV until relatively recently.
SO no real comparison between Shah and the people you mention, other than Denning who I've never heard of.

His battle with the print unions made him a celebrity.

You need to do a bit more digging about one of the original Radio 1 DJs.

How many people can name local DJs? His fame was hardly comparable to that in the 70s, 80s or 90s. I doubt many people under 30 have any idea who he is.
Gary Glitter was still performing and selling

Gary Glitter's last concerts were in 1996. His album On was sold only online via his website.
and stayed in the public eye

No, he stayed in the public eye because he is/was a huge star and the tabloids reported on him.

What TV was Davidson doing? Last I remember was a few years ago on Hell's Kitchen when he got kicked off.

Re: Essex Lad
It was 2007 that is why I use the phrase "relatively recently".
And it is relatively recently compared to Eddie Shah who the vast majority of the population would have heard nothing about for the last 30 years until his current case came along.

Re: Essex Lad
Unless they noticed when he sold Today to Rupert Murdoch in 1987.
Re: Essex Lad
Six years is a long time in showbusiness. There will be lots of younger people who had never heard of Jim Davidson until he was arrested.

Well I admire your determination.
"Unless they noticed when he sold Today to Rupert Murdoch in 1987".
Yep this put DLT Radio 1 shows totally in the shade, celebrity-wise.
"Six years is a long time in showbusiness. "
Yes and Eddie Shah had a confrontation with the press unions 30 years ago.
Just to remind you of the point of my original post in response to Jonone. Perhaps the reason why Eddie Shah's trial has not been as widely reported as Jonone had expected, was because he hasn't been in the public eye for 30 years.
And nothing you have posted suggests that he has been anything other than much less in the public eye than all the other people you mention apart from maybe Denning.
Feel free to comeback as many times you want about all the celebrity filled things Eddie Shah has done in the last 30 years that have passed me by.
However, I think I will have to forgo the pleasure of responding.
