Do you think Britain should start planning a monument for the brave British soldiers killed in Syria??
I ask this as I get the impression that once Syria is turned into the next pressure cooker of the middle east (when Bashar Hafez al-Assad has gone) and Britain sends troops " purely for re building, they may never need to fire a shot!" by the wonderful talented politicians....
and yet again it all ended in tears...

On the fright side at least our brave boys can get a payout because that naughty raghead tried to kill him and its the governments fault because he wasn't issued a Mk VII ironman suit impervious to all known weapons of war.

Don't you think any brave boy / British Solider who gets killed in the middle east nowdays should consider it part of the job?
Based on the record of the last several governments, the chances are that if you join the army now you are going to end up in some godforsaken shithole fighting a war that has nothing to do with us and/or in support of US Foreign Policy aims.
Why should things be any different in the future?
Shouldn't our brave boys take this into consideration when they sign on the dotted line?

Indeed. We discussed this at work this morning. Join the Fire Service and risk getting burned, work for the RSPCA and you risk getting bitten by an animal, serve on the front line, something which are well paid, trained and did of your own accord and get blown up.....goes with the job.

Unlike the other services mentioned they don't have to suffer pay cuts or anyone complaining about their pension.

We have one. It's called the Cenotaph.

Judging by the G8, he isn't going anywhere at least not for a while...

Yes, when they're sitting in a waterlogged ditch with incoming flying overhead they can't legitimately say 'I didn't expect this', unless they only joined for the skiing in the alps and the piss-ups in Napa, and didn't look at the bigger picture.
