How wrong you are 2infro.....late afternoon on the anniversary of the
Dambusters Raid I popped the old movie into my dvd player - the real
version with "Nigger" the dog - and wallowed in Richard Todd`s best
performance - while remembering that the actor/star also fought bravely
himself on D Day - enjoyed Michael Redgrave`s brilliant portrayal of Prof
Barnes Wallace, and a film that still grips with suspense.....then at
precisely the minute the lads of Bomber Command set off 70 years ago, I
went out onto my terrace with a glorious sunset and gave them a salute !
Its what any decent chap would do.....

Maybe some people have lives and dont report everything to a forum when people have twitter accounts now and most of the people younger than you dont even know about the war...or the Falklands conflict come to that

Whaddya mean we're shallow?

I watched Powell and Pressburger's 'A Matter Of Life and Death' with David Niven last week. Does that count ?

As a young lad I was in the Air Training Corp... we visited RAF Scampton and were presented with the famous 617 squadron badge...(they were just getting tornado's)

"Apr?s moi le Deluge"

and I still have it today....
