This is an economic disaster. When is he going to go? When are they going to try to stimulate the economy? Austerity hasn't worked.

Would it have been any different under Labour? At least the debt's gone down a bit. Replacing Osborne with someone who will do exactly the same is a waste of time. Osborne will go when he should. At the next general election with the rest of the coalition (unless there is an economic boom between now and 2015).

I don't give a shit about Labour conservative or Lib dem. He failed! He even lost the triple A credit rating he said was vital. Hasn't done the yanks any harm in losing it.

?120.9bn - ?120.6bn reduced by ?0.3bn. That means it will take 400 years at this rate.

He had his chance. Time to change course and get people working spending and paying taxes.

This is correct. Reducing the deficit has effectively stalled as the Office of Budget Responsibility pointed out at the last budget. And Osborne only managed to reduce it by .3bn by fiddling the figures and getting departments to move spending from the end of one year into the next. That way Tory MPs can say that the economy is "healing".

Osborne undertook to clear the deficit completely by 2015 when he and Cameron got in in 2010 - only 395 years out then on current figures.

400 years of austerity. Mmmm. Great!

It is difficult to imagine how Osborne could have done worse. He even has his best chum Christine Lagarde, who he supported in her appointment to head up the IMF, slagging him off.

If people think any other Tory would have done better they are living in cloud cuckoo land. Osborne's policy is government policy. The government has to be changed.

Some people will switch to another party when the price of their house goes down which means almost certainly means Labour will get in next time.

Congratulations George 0.3% growth GDP for 1st quarter As he says he's this proves he's building an economy fit for the future !deadhorse!

The level of UK government debt for 2012 was published on the Eurostat website on monday.

It was ?1,387,436,000,000. That's up over 7% on 2011 when it was ?1,295,417,000,000 and more than 19% higher than 2010.

Yes, George Osborne is doing an amazing job - of pretending that he has sorted anything out at all.
