I was watching the reactions of the female members of the audience to Gail Dynes arguments and few appeared to be with her, there are many reasons why girls have body issues i mean does Pixie Lott need to dress that way to perform a song, i guess a lot of young girls would aspire to be like her and other celebs rather than a porn star, but why not just blame it all on porn it's easier..

Ever since I left school in 92, I've heard nothing but sniping and criticism of the fashion industry for making young girls feel insecure and being one of the causes of eating disorders like anorexia.

Then it moved to include 'skinny celebs' and now porn stars. And in all that time I've just seen the nation's adult and kids get fatter and fatter and fatter. For every person that dies of anorexia a hundred or more will die from an obesity-related illness. We've become a nation of fatties that sit and moan about thin people, and won't be satisfied until everyone else is fat too.......cos then we won't feel so bad about our own issues.

And why is it always the girls that feel this pressure? If there's any real affect wouldn't it be the same for boys and the pressure to 'measure up' to the male performers?
