trying to stop the Roumanian's coming!

Post by Von Boy »

Its funny hearing all parties in the UK saying how they propose to stop all these hard working people coming to the UK and getting what they are entitled to in terms of benefits etc.
I don't think any of them have a clue/chance of doing anything to stop what "call me Tony" started in '97....

Stable door and horse bolted comes to mind!!

The claim that foreigners come to the UK to get benefits is a myth. The government has no proof that this happens.!shrug!

I dont understand why people continue to peddle the blatant myth of so called benefit tourism. Other than their xenophobia I suppose.

This is a freedom of information question put to the Office of National Statistics in 2011

Question

How many people with Polish nationality are unemployed in the UK.

Answer

22,597 out of a total of 580, 216 Polish people who reside in the UK.

Secondly, he notion that foreign-born people are less than half as likely to be claiming benefits as UK nationals is well founded in the available figures from the DWP and the ONS. They indicate that around 15 per cent of UK nationals are currently claiming working age benefits, compared to six per cent of foreign nationals.

So the obvious solution to the burgeoning welfare bill that Diamond Dave keeps banging on about is as follows

Ship the UK Nationals who are unemployed off to Poland.

Replace them with foreigners.

Right, I am off to start up a political party. Vote DJ you know it makes sense!

If they can be accused of anything its the fact that as pointed out by one Bulgarian on the news last night that we have better facilities for education which they see as an opportunity.

I would say that was a respectable comment.

I have an american friend teaching in China. Hes from New York, a film making buddy of mine has ditched making films to teach in Macau

I think this whole leave one country for another to make social benefits is limited tothe very few who end up masterminding scams to rinse the system. Dont let those criminals speak for the rest of the folk who actually want a job.

May I suggest we all go to Bulgaria because the cost of living there is half the price compared to living in the UK and the summer season is due to start soon on Sunny Beach. Plenty of nice russian girls go there if you dont upset their oligarchy boyfriends :-)

Labour estimated about 13,000 Poles give or take would come here and were out by a factor of 50 (a figure that Alan Johnson did not dispute on This Week last night) so the ONS figures are also hopelessly wrong.

Presumably though at least some of those 15% have paid into the system whereas I doubt many if any of the 6% have put anything in.

There is the added difficulty in that although many immigrants who come here from eastern Europe do indeed work hard and do not claim benefits, they do not spend the money they earn in the UK but send it back home to their families. In addition, there is an extra burden on housing, education and the health service. Since there are apparently only 22,597 Poles officially employed in this country and Labour admit that there are far more than that actually here, a goodly number must be working illegally so they are not benefiting the economy in paying tax and national insurance.

Err. you just appear to be guessing here. A bit like the Labour government's idiotic guess about how many Poles would come here.

"There is the added difficulty in that although many immigrants who come here from eastern Europe do indeed work hard and do not claim benefits, they do not spend the money they earn in the UK but send it back home to their families."

Clearly they do spend money here, notwithstanding taxes etc. Accommodation, transport, food, entertainment etc. etc. Obviously like a lot of foreigners working in another country with a higher standard of living many try to save what they can from their wage because they suspect they will go home at some point and want some dosh to show for it. British expats working overseas are just the same, particularly the ones working in the oil rich Gulf States.

I always find blogs like this very interesting only because I am not sure
whether they come from a genuine fear that Romanians and Bulgarians
are marching in their thousands for free handouts....or is it simply a dislike
of foreigners in general....From what I have seen and the foreigners -
Poles, Czechs, Hungarians - I have talked to in the UK, they all seem to
be doing jobs Brits just don`t want to do. Some learn to like Britain and
make a long-term life there....others miss their own country, family,
friends and established values (quite naturally) and go back after a few
years.....
And One Eyed Jack has a fair point.....Romania may be famous for its
gypsies.....its also home to some pretty hot totty and so is Bulgaria. One
would have thought people writing on a porn forum like this one would be
slavering at the mouth at the thought of all that tanned pussy you might
soon get to fuck....
