'small business' threshold...

Does anyone know under what amount a company has to be earning to be classed as a 'small business'? I seem to recall it was a company earning below 20k a few years ago, I wouldn't be surprised if it is now a company earning below 30k. There are perks to being one, you have to submit very little in the way of paperwork or receipts when doing your returns, and there is guidance from Government to help start and maintain your little business. Anyone know the figure?

Thanks for that, I'll have a read. I've always thought about having my own business and would like to turn over more than 30k but you have to start small and built it up.
