There has been a lot of coverage lately about a speech David Cameron is going to make soon. Channel 4 News has just said it will probably take place somewhere on the Continent in the next few weeks and that it will be one of the biggest and most significant speeches any British Prime Minister has made on anything since World War 2. Was Ted Heath wrong to take us in? Are we now getting out completely? We are about to enter a very interesting period in our country's history...

Dave C could go down in history as a PM who really cared about the whole Britain/Europe issue. None of the others really have. Thatcher claimed to but only when it wouldn't harm her career - she famously allowed us to enter the ERM even though she knew it would be a bad thing because her career could have ended otherwise. It turned out to be a disaster. If Dave does this right and goes along with what the British people want regarding our relationship with Europe he could be remembered for many years as the PM who really cared for Britain on this subject.

This jaw-droppingly powerful and incendiary speech has been ... postponed.
Is Diamond Dave polishing it a little more ?
