Kennedy Centre Honours ?

Why can't we do this type of honour here in England instead of the knighthood bollocks ? They do it year after year honouring their own as well as ours in the USA. Have the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd or The Who ever been honoured by the pathetic Brit Awards ? I doubt it.
