Borgen

Those forumites who are having withdrawal symptoms after the Killing finished before Xmas for apparently the last time, may want to give the political drama, Borgen a watch.

High quality, well acted Danish drama, series 2 started last night with two one hour episodes on Beeb 4. It is on the iplayer.

Must be a shortage of good actors in Denmark because disoncertingly, actors in the Killing make an appearance here. The bloke who played the Prime Minister in the Killing 3 appears as a car salesman in Borgen.

Now if reality in the UK could only imitate fiction......

Got it on Sky+. Sad that we have to look to a small nation like Denmark to give us well acted entertainment. The might of ITV gives us "celeb" diving programme featuring someone who didn't even win gold at London 2012.

Having to broadcast European programmes to UK audiences is a result of the
the EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive. Article 13 states " Member States must ensure that not only television broadcasters but also on-demand audiovisual media services promote European works."

ATVOD are always banging on about it when they are not closing down porn sites!
