If this election had been run as a first past the post election, you know like most elections in England, he would have won.

1st preference votes Prescott got 24.9%, and the Tory 22.0%.



It?s only because 2nd preference votes were taken into account that ended up with the Tory elected.

I read that Prestcott blamed a bad media campaign. He conveniently overlooked that the voters were the voters of Hull who had returned the fat useless bastard for 40 something years. At long last they were obviously glad to be rid of him.

Apparently he'd have won if they'd have used a different voting system. Or if no-one else had stood. Or if all votes for others were discarded.
