I see the BBC being re-organised in a nowhere near as free set up in the near future. I have always regarded them in the highest but their recent behaviour and generally crap output bar a few decent shows (Zen, Sherlock, Top Gear) mean it needs to have a long hard look at what it stands for. And stop advertising for staff in just one ultra lefty luvvie paper (The Guadrain).

"ultra lefty luvvie paper (The Guadrain)."

They supported the Lib Dems at the last election,

Mind the term "ultra lefty" is all relative to one's own politics, I guess.

!wink!

Don't see why Entwistle had to resign. How can someone be the head of an enormous organisation like the BBC and also be responsible for editorial content in every news program that runs. The BBC News channel alone has 24/7 coverage.

It seems to me that the Newsnight team were probably right at the time not to run with the Savile story a year ago. There was no evidence that would stand up in court. And we all have plenty of wisdom after the event.

Looks like the Newsnight team tried to deal with all the criticism they got for pulling the Savile story by putting out a story that hadn't been checked properly. The editors responsible should be the people who are walking not the Director General.

Needless to say the overwhelmingly Tory run newspaper media are having a field day, led by the Murdoch empire, hammering the BBC.

A 450k golden handshake. Not bad for 55 days work.

"We're all in this together". Yeah, course we are Dave.
