R.I.P. Eric Lomax
Author of "The Railway Man", one of the most moving accounts of
British POW`s in the 2nd WW. Eric was caught with a radio transmitter
and tortured endlessly by the Japanese secret police, on one occasion
receiving 900 blows, on another being coated from head to foot in his
own excrement. In the 1990`s he met the Jap interpreter at these
torture sessions and forgave him. The movie of his book will be out
in cinemas next year starring Colin Firth who is a remarkable lookalike
for Eric Lomax.

I bet his "Japanese interpreter" when they met in the 1990's, must have been a bit sheepish, to say the least! Lol
