Spiffing idea about employee shares

Interesting idea from Boy George outlined today.

Companies can give capital gains tax free shares in their company worth from ?2000 upwards to those employees prepared to give up the following employee rights.

1. Cover for unfair dismissal and redundancy
2. The right to request flexible working and time off for training
3. Mothers giving eight weeks' notice of the date they are to return from maternity leave. Instead they must give 16 weeks' notice.

These spiffingly good ideas would be optional for current employees but companies could make it a mandatory requirement for people being offered a new job in the company, thus making unfair dismissal a thing of the past.

But hang on, what if your old age pensioner boss offers you a once in a lifetime opportunity to get dressed as a schoolgirl whilst he gets dressed as Jimmy Savile for a knee trembler in the stock room?

You refuse this wonderful offer, get the sack after 10 years work there and have no cover for unfair dismissal and lose potentially substantial sums of money for unfair dismissal.

To borrow our esteemed government's favourite phrase "How can it be fair....."

itsa way to try and batter down the ordinary guy and get him to wave goodbye to the rights that have been hard earned. Anyone who gives up these rights for such a small sum of money needs to wake up. Its not even money its shares which have proved to be pretty worthless over the past 7 years or so,,,,,, comming from a guy who had a nice tidy sum in shares before it went pete tong.

Obviously the cretins cant take these benefits from you so they are trying to entice ya. Yeah rock on Ill keep my rights and will make sure you dont walk over me any more than you already can.....

Politician numpties - where do they come from and do they really give a stuff about the voters ?

Quite right but given these plans can apply to all limited companies that want to implement them, the plans could be mandatory for all new workers who join after the implementation of the legislation.

So you could put up with endless crap at work because "hey it's a job and better than being on the dole" at the end of which the company could go bust with your shares worthless and nothing to show for years of taking crap at work.

Companies will go bust more often and restart under a different name - you can trust no one now as they are all at making a quick buck and fucc the rest of us.....

A stupid idea. And that seems to be the opinion from all sides of the political fence. Could be a tad difficult if your company isn't listed or has a sole owner. I am sure a self made man / woman will be dead keen to give away some of her hard earned fortune to their staff..

I also think it's against EU law. Osborne continues to amaze me with his stupidity.
