R.I.P. Herbert Lom

R.I.P. to one of Cinema`s greatest villains - from "The Ladykillers" to
"El Cid" and "War and Peace", to his funny and hapless Inspector Dreyfus in
the Pink Panther comedies, the master of slick (sometimes oily) and
always sinister baddies. Great actor.

Apparently he never got over his Jewish girl-friend, with whom he had fled Czechoslovakia and persecution , being denied entry at Dover in 1939 for having incorrect documentation. She was sent back. She died later in a concentration camp.
