Charlie Richardson and me

Post by andy at handiwork »

Many years ago whilst filming in HM Prison Maidstone, I got chatting to a con who was looking after the fish tank in the rec room. He seemed a pleasant enough bloke, and its important not to judge people when you want a bit of co-operation from them, so I didn't inquire what he was in for, how long nor who he was, just how easy were the fish to keep. It was only after we'd moved on to another wing that our researcher told me who I'd been speaking to.

Saw a documentary and an interview with him on tv recently. He did actually come across as a nice guy,and had real business acumen apparrantly. Apparrantly his brother was the main "muscle" in the firm.

As long as you had your front door open, you had no chance of getting tortured at all in those days.

Not now.
