At the medals stuff when Osborne was booed.... Gordon " saving the world" Brown was cheered... why??

My view from the side of Lake Geneva is simply that he spent money like it was going out of fashion... most people will cheer someone whose giving money away!!!

Gordon Brown is remembered as PM rather like Iain Duncan Smith is remembered as leader of the Tory party. In other words he barely is, and people have to jog their memories to even recall that he ever was.

They mistook him for Donny Osmond. It's an easy mistake.

I think it might have been because for all his faults, the people there considered that deep down he is a decent man.

Well I think it is because:

1. He has a disability himself with his eye.
2. Labour did a fair bit to support the disabled during the recent Labour governments.
3. The Tories have done a fair bit to piss off disabled people in the last two and a half years.
4. There was growth in the economy at the time the coalition took over and since Osborne's "emergency budget" kicked in there has been endless gloom and doom with a flatlining economy for the last two quarters which shows no sign of improving.
5. The grass is always greener. Hey you thought Brown was a clown, look at Cameron and Osborne - jeez, bring that man back.
6. There have been so, so many U-turns, coalition omnishambles is the standard setting.
7. Cameron and Osborne believe in unremitting austerity and Brown, Darling and Balls told them it would bugger the recovery. It has. Austerity the policy that has lost Greece 20% of its GDP in 4 years. Hey. losing 20% of your economy, that is a good way to help the Greeks repay their debts. Not!!!

But even you would have to agree that Brown wasted soooo much hard earned tax money.....

and also you must agree that checking people claiming a benefit is right for everyone who's tax is being used to help them....

If not the Uk may as well pack up and just be a benefit income country with a massive public sector...

Par for the course for governments. Even you would have to agree that up to the financial collapse, the national debt was no bigger under Brown than under Thather.

"and also you must agree that checking people claiming a benefit is right for everyone who's tax is being used to help them...."

And even you must agree that I have never stated that we should not be checking people on disability benefit.
