Apparently Jenkins went on twitter to refute a rumour no one had ever heard about anyway.

She's not been in the papers for a while so.....

I doubt it but they would be a perfect match. Made a packet out of mediocre talent and great marketing people.

Nonsense comment.

What percentage of the population do you think can:

a) play football better than Beckham.

and

b) sing better than Jenkins.

???

I think it's a bollocks story for publicity but to call their talents mediocre is silly.

Now my singing and footballing skills........THEY are mediocre!

You haven't heard my "Begin the Beguine" when I'm in the bath.

Also 'mediocre' is a relative term Sam, and I think what A.V. meant was that he's 'mediocre' in relation to many of his peers (i.e. those playing top-level football).

Beckham is a one-trick pony - passes and dead balls (okay maybe that's two, but you get my drift). That's pretty much it. But for one reason or another (married a Spice Girl / a lot of women think he's fit etc. etc.) he just happens to be a lot more "marketable" than most.

This is a joke, Eric. Right?

We are talking about the David Beckham who:

1. Spent most of his career at Man Utd where he won everything including the treble season when they won the FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League. He played for Utd. for 11 years under a manager not noted for having "mediocrity" in his side for over a decade.
2. Played for Real Madrid and Milan.
3. Won three league titles in three different countries.
4. Twice runner up in World FIFA Player of the Year.
5. Won 115 caps for England and was their captain for awhile.

You are having a laugh or you don't realise you are having a laugh.

Either way, it is a nonsense statement as Sam points out.

I get it's relative but he said it without comparing Jenkins/Beckham with anyone else. It was a lazy statement with nothing backing it up and was probably said because it's a very safe, no-nonsense thing for a middle-aged man to say. It's weedy. Other middle-aged men will agree and nod to one another safe in the knowledge that they all think that girly man, Beckham, has stolen a living being a shite footballer cos he's a bit pretty an' that.

Both the Beckham lovers and Beckham haters are too hung up on how he looks and that colours their view (both positive and negative) of him.

As for Jenkins, why all of a sudden has she turned into this fame-hungry div? She used to always be quiet and presentable.
