The only babe in Parliament Louise Mensch has announced her resignation today. She claims she wants to go and live in New York with her rock star husband and her 3 children.
There will be cheering at Labour headquarters today! Thousands of their nasty Twittering hatchlings have done their task of pouring an endless stream of bile and hate on Ms Mensch has worked well! I presume there have been also threats against her children. Yes they have driven her out of not only her party but the country as well!
Louise Mensch :0 Labour Haters:1
You can see what lies in the under belly of your typical Labour supporter when he or she takes a dislike to you! Imagine them en masse!
Louise Mensch-the end.

She is in the fortunate position of never having to worry about money, where as most people are unable to just leave a job because they will have financial worries if they did. Her husband is the manager of Metallica, one of the world's biggest bands, and most managers get 15% of the earnings. So if he gets one-seventh of the hundreds and hundreds of millions Metallica has earned then Louise won't have any worries on the money front. She can quit her job just like that. Most MP's who are going to leave announce they will not stand at the next election, so they plan their departure a few years ahead.
I'm not sure if it's the haters who have driven her out, all politicians have haters. She has a very colourful past, she's admitted to being a class-a drug taker when younger. I also think one of the reasons she is so famous is because she is good looking. Women should get to where they get to solely on ability and experience but the better looking you are still carries you forward - even in the modern, supposed meritocracy we live in today.
her resignation letter...

Dear Prime Minister,
As you know, I have been struggling for some time to find the best outcome for my family life, and have decided, in order to keep us together, to move to New York. With the greatest regret, I am thus resigning as a member of parliament.
It is only through your personal intervention, delivered quietly and without fanfare, that I have been able to manage my duties for this long. Your allowing me to work in Corby and East Northamptonshire each Thursday and Friday has enabled me to do weekly surgeries while parliament has been in session, and to visit many more people and places around our local area, whilst still spending time with my children. Unfortunately, it has not proved to be enough. I am very sorry that despite my best efforts, I have been unable to make the balancing act work for our family. You have been unfailingly generous and supportive.
It has been an honour to serve the people of Corby and East Northamptonshire. Whether it has been supporting Corby's new free school, or fighting for the truth on the Cube overspend and land development deals, or striving to protect the East Northamptonshire countryside, in my work as the local MP I have always been struck, as I said in my maiden speech, by the pride people have in our area. Corby can be summed up in the single word "pride".
It has been an honour too to serve as a member of parliament under your leadership. The single most important job your government has is to fix the appalling deficit left by Labour. I am proud that the coalition has reduced this figure by a quarter in two years, that interest rates remain low, and that every major international economic body has endorsed the chancellor's necessary action.
I have had the privilege of serving on the culture, media and sport select committee under the formidable chairmanship of John Whittingdale. It is a joy to see the Olympics so well delivered, something both Locog and Jeremy Hunt should be immensely proud of, along with all the thousands of volunteers and Games makers who are brilliantly showcasing London to the world. The committee also took the lead on phone hacking, and despite our well-known differences on that matter, it has been an honour to work alongside all my fellow members, past and present, from all parties. I believe that our inquiry set a new standard for the importance and relevance of a select committee system.
For your many personal kindnesses to me, I am eternally grateful.
Yours ever,
Louise Mensch MP

Max Tranmere, with his apparent, greater grip on reality than your good self, has already put you firmly in your place by pointing out that in her resignation letter, family reasons are given and as Max also correctly points out all MPs get abuse from assorted nutters and that this resignation appears to have got nothing to do with a "hate campaign".
WIth regard to your typically vague and confused "I presume there have been also threats against her children." I suspect, but who can possibly know for sure, that you are referring to internet troll, Frank Zimmermann who was given a suspended sentence for threatening Mensch and the lives of her children on Twitter.
Zimmermann is a creep who appears to have no political bias given the fact that apparently he gave the same treatment to Labour supporter, Alan Sugar.
PS. Before you start reporting it, there is absolutely no truth in the rumour that John Prescott threatened to eat her kids at a New Labour torture chamber in CHeam. Just thought I would mention that.
PSPS And since I know you just love pictures, here's one of Frank Zimmerman. He looks remarkably like a younger version of you, don't you think?

I must need a trip to Specsavers. I have had another look at the picture of Frank Zimmerman and now realise that it is not you, Jim.
Have you a younger brother who is also an Internet troll?
!wink!

Yeah, he doesn't look any friendlier in the flesh than he does on Twitter.
Either that or he has just been bitten by Rudolph.

Must disagree with you Jim. I really cannot see why Ms Mensch became an
MP to start with. Was she obsessed with a career in Parliament. Duty driven
to serve her country ? I think not. From some of her recent remarks she
seems like a slightly silly upper-middle class "gel" who thought it might be
fun to tell all her friends on twitter that she was an M.P. !! (hoot, hoot).
Now that she has family problems, probably bored with dealing with old
constituency matters and old farts like me, she is off to follow hubby and
his job in New York. Much more fun than hard slogging back-bencher
duties !!!
Yes, Jim, I know you think she would have made a great Jim Slip Babe but
control your obsession with english blondes who look like butter wouldn`t
melt in their mouths....or anywhere else for that matter. Lol.

Could it be being an MP in the UK, having three children and having an American husband have something to do with the decision?
To be fair, while attractive she's not the brightest of MPs. I'm sure Labour would prefer a less intelligent opponent than a more intelligent one. She was an easy target for them (publicity seeking bimbo etc) so I doubt anyone on the Labour side are jumping for joy that she's quitting.
If she wants to spend more time with her family then that's a believable excuse. Thousands of working mums make decisions like this every day. No conspiracy needed.
