iran war hype....here we go....

The hype is hotting up.....the path to war now clearly laid out. Visiting
Jerusalem today the US Defence Secretary has said that his country will
not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons. At same time Netanyahu says
no country, including USA, can dictate if and when Israel might attack Iran.
Most interesting he says this when Mr Panetta comes calling. I am sure they
will not be sitting down to discuss the weather or the Olympics.
Clearly Panetta is there to discuss strategy with Israel, America`s pet
rottweiler, and to make plans...big plans....that clearly lead towards a
pre-emptive strike. And thus, my friends, wars are cooked up and people,
ordinary people like you and me, die as a result. Simple really.

I would say it was the other way round Frank, namely it is America that is Israel's per rottweiler!

You need to keep in mind Frank, that this is an election year in the US where presidential candidates try to get the Jewish vote onboard. As part of that strategy both Romney and Obama will spout much without necessarily committing a great deal.
The last thing an American electorate wants is to find their troops/airforce sucked into another war in Iran to add to their losses in Afghanistan.

The original gulf war - iraq threw missiles at israel to taunt them into war - this failed as the US basically told israel to hold fire or the US would step in and sort out israel....
The US calls the shots always has done and will continue to do so even more so having no real counter balance now., The US want the middle east and to do that they need to destabilise it - use iran to trigger what they want ? you dont think the states have been involved in the other regions that have fallen in the middle east? its all about oil and money... who controls the oil now wins especially when the oil is starting to run out - all this who-ha about hybrid and green power is a smoke screen chaps - like do you think wind power and sea power can be used to make up the drop from oil ?

The Jewish vote is minimal DJ. Their wallets get their opinions over much better.

Well, it is over 6 million, but crucially is concentrated in a number of key states like Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania.

As I said minimal compared to the Irish, Black and Hispanic votes. But they do punch above their weight financially and as we all know money is how you gain influence no matter which country you live in....

Because the Jewish vote is smaller than the Irish, Black and Hispanic does not mean it is irrelevant and like I said it tends to be concentrated in key battleground states. That's why winning the Jewish vote is important.

You may recall an 80s TV series called Max Headroom? It got into serious hot water as the character uttered the line "American politicians are the best money can buy...." not much has changed. Personally the choice between Obie and Mitt is like choosing between flat beer and stale bread.
