I didn't think it was possible for Saturday Night TV to get any worse than it currently is.

I was wrong!

Whose worse though him or Keith Lemon?

That's like being asked to choose between dog shit and cat shit.

I tell you, they're going through Alan Partridges list of TV programme ideas and making them.

Remember how we laughed at 'Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubanks'. 'Arm Wrestling with Chas & Dave'?

One of them was 'Cooking in Prison'. What's Gordon Ramsays new show?

From about 2.53 where the Commissioning Editor says "your programmes were appalling..........."

Don't you just wish someone at that level in the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc had the guts to say that to Noel Edmonds, Keith Lemon, Gordon Ramsay and co?

I could list about 50 of them if I thought about it. I don't want to though because it's too painful!

Yep, but in the end it comes down to one thing, it's cheap.

A decent drama will cost about half a million for one hour of airtime, if you start doing historical or futuristic, those costs shoot up. Much easier to get a third rate presenter and a couple of people chasing a ?10,000 prize on a quiz show. There's just not enough advertising money to go round to make quality tv on a regular basis.

Just watched a Morse I had recorded. Mate of mine knew the producers and siad Thaw and Watley got ?250k a show, add in some heavyweight guests, cinema quality soundtrack and ?2m was not underheard for a single episode.
Or you could have some Keith Lemon...my IQ is over 75 so not in his captive audience.
Can you imagine trying to re do I Claudius or Tinker Taylor with their casts??
