Bankers and the neuroscience of greed

There is absoluety no way that Bob Diamond should get his avaricious paws on another ?30M.

Every poor sod with savings is watching their cash dribble through the holes in the banking system created by Bob and his ilk.

I don't regard this as a suggestion that greed should be excused but that, as a society, we should not feed the habit!

The article attempts to rationalise what is in effect, just wanton selfishness and greed. It is not a mental condition, it is just being a total greedy bastard. Here is a case of someone who has the same mindset as a typical investment banker:



Of course we the poor are kept firmly in our place by other poor people who scream at those of us who dare complain about the bankers, "Leave 'em alone you're just jealous!"

The greed and excesses of bankers or should I say, money lenders, has pissed people off since Biblical times, including that dude with the long hair, Jesus!Today he'd burst into Barclays with a Kalashnikov blazing!

It is not merely a rationalisation but rationalisation is an essential step in tackling a problem; not that I have any illusions that anyone will tackle it.

The problem is that these people actually produce NOTHING. They churn money around and around, that is all. Some would say that they lend money to organisations which in turn will turn ideas into job making ventures. This is partly true, but it would appear that with the advent of all these complex financial schemes, they make obscene amounts of money by doing no more than intertrading amongst each other.

We don't want crooked, greedy spivs running our banks. We want people like Captain Mainwaring, from Dad's Army in charge. A man so entrenched by propriety that he even questions the background of Pike's new girlfriend, "Is she a suitable choice for someone who works at our bank??" He storms!.

I believe in a recent poll, the most hated in our society are first Bankers closely followed by politiicians.

Hardly surprising, really.

I can't imagine this guy fiddling with the LIBOR rate at the bequest of a politician, he'd foam at the mouth with outrage!
