What a bunch of greedy fuckers! Wouldn't it be wonderful to see the perpetrators being led down the steps of Barclays in handcuffs and being bundled into police cars!

I can dream can't I?

Nothing's really going to happen. They're rich. The rich can do what they please because a lot of them are employers and they have us by the balls. Much safer to worry about the billion or so lost paying for benefit cheats and immigrants. The 25 billion the rich screw us out of every year is worth it.

Keep the poor fighting amongst themselves for the scraps and everyone's a winner.

Not so sure actually. Everyone hates bankers, many Tories are "Old money" they despise City slime balls as much as anyone else. Osborne's diatribe today would never have been uttered by anyone during the years of New Labour, who at best turned a blind eye and at worst were complcit in encouraging this kind of behaviour. Remember all this happened between 2004-2007, slap bang in the middle of New Labour's reign.

Your assumption that , "The rich always forgive the rich", is daft.

Those that know how to make money are still making money - the banking crash one of the biggest swizzes ever - held the government by the balls and then got paid a shed of money.

Did any of them drop their bonus ? nope... still got thier hands on the loot and went home laughing.

When RBS was at the edge it would have taken down the country, and it was indeed at the edge, a mere hour or so from tipping. The government knew nothing about how bad it was. But when they did they had no option but to bail them out.

The consequence of RBS failing would have bankrupted the country - not RBS it would have been dead but the country would have sunk.

Labour let it get to that by not enforcing the legislation - by not policing the banks. All the banks were at it, building on foundations that could not support the development. Those foundations would eventually fail and they did. Now where do we go ?

The government own the bank, why dont they get into it more and take it over fully ? they they can dictate how its run - our money is in there our country resource so we need to say enough is enough and get those who dont know how to run it out and put someone in that can run it.

The infrastructure ? this recent event shows that there are concerns and worries there - it needs to be improved and more effort spent on making sure the basics work and that the business is supported and managed properly.

This Barclays scam is beyond belief....and it seems possible that Lloyds
and RBS might be involved too...To think of the greed of these fuckers...
though I do NOT accept that generally it is a corporate thing. It is simply
the greed of Barclay employees and traders pushing up the Libor rates -
and getting a fat fat commission ie each person is thinking of him or her
self first (their bank a long way second). The salaries of these bastards
beggars belief.
To cheer you up Jim, a friend of mine in Canada is so incensed by the
greed of bankers worldwide that he has had a teeshirt printed that he
proudly wears - it reads "Make Me Smile - Hang A Banker Today ".

Dream on, Jim. It is very unlikely that criminal charges could be made to stick. It would be fun to see an attempt though. However, as bonuses paid to the people who were manipulating the mechanism were based on the inflated results of that very manipulation, I'm sure it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility to enforce the return of that clearly fraudulently acquired money.

More nonsense from Jim Slop.

Look at the list of backers for the Tory party. Finance sector companies, hedge funds etc are overwhelmingly the biggest backer. The Tories argue that the Labour party is run by the trade union masters. Labour could argye that the Tory party is funded by the City boys.
