SPAIN V PORTUGAL

Post by Charfan »

Anyone wanna call it?

Portugal seem to be a one man team and Spain looked tired the other day. I'd badk Spain, but it could be a bloody draw as well (in 90 mins) !

Spain will have most of the ball which means Portugal's best tactic is counter-attack. In Ronaldo and Nani they have real pace so it could come down to who scores first. If Spain score first I can see them holding on to the ball and not pushing men forward. That means no counter attacking and no ball for Portugal. Easy Spain win.

If it keeps 0-0 for a long time and Spain decide to become a little adventurous I can see Portugal hitting them on the break, and if they take one of their (I predict rare) chances it might turn into a real spectacle that can go either way!

Spain didn't turn up until extra time. Portugal were very tired at the end.

Got to be a Germany v Spain final for me! I think Germany are a fitter side than Portugal so can see them nicking it.

For me (as much as it pains me to admit it) the Germans have been the stand-out side of the tournament so far. But it wouldn't surprise me to see Italy sneak past the Germans - they always seem to do them in major tournaments (Italy are to Germany what Germany are to England).

I think though that if Germany get past Italy, they'll beat Spain this time round. It'll be close though. Probably 2-1.
