Horror for Mr Slip - and others

Decided to have a horror-fest last night and watched a double bill of the
new movies CHERNOBYL DIARIES and PIRANHA DD. Since I know my old
sparring partner Mr Slip likes a scary movie, I urge you, Jim, to see them.
Would be interested to know what other horror fans thought of them.....?
The Chernobyl one has been a failure in USA but the Budapest cinema was
packed (most American teens probably have no idea where or what
Chernobyl was). Its premise - that there are flesh-eating mutant humans
crawling around the nuclear reactor site at night - is beautifully realised and
creepy, but I would have liked the horror to be more graphic....Piranha DD,
is certainly graphic. The audience even clapped in places at some of the
more pornographic piranha attacks....Cheaper budget than last time but its
silly, dirty, fun !

Can't wait to see both Frank, gimme! gimme! gimme! Just the thought of big-jugged, bikini clad babes having piranha teeth sunk into their butts, sends shivers down my spine! Yum! Yum! Looks fingerlickin' good, Frank!
The Chernobyl one looks fucking scary too!
Here are trailers for both folks!
The World isn't very safe if you are an American teen, it would appear!

Always thought about mutations after Chernobyl....mates who work at Sellafield said the site will be hot for centuries.....

Anywhere in reactor 4, will be irradiated for 20,000 years. I believe the core is still smouldering and potentially hazardous. This is why they are building a new Safe Confinement shelter. I've got a very spooky 3D TV documentary shot in the environs of Chernobyl.

I saw a trailer for the Chernobyl movie 2 weeks ago Liz when me & Mrs Eric went to see "Prometheus", and judging from that it didn't look to be particularly wobblycam. But I'll try and find out for sure before I commit to seeing it, as I hate that style of filming. It's been done to death and it's about fucking time that directors moved on and let us actually see what we're supposed to be watching.

Lizard and Flat Eric - Chernobyl Diaries is slightly curious in that it is filmed
in what can be called classic film style with perfectly framed shots for the
first hour. As the action hots up the editing gets more frenetic with some
videocam work. In fact I thought it was rather well lit allowing for the many
"totally dark" night shots. One shot inside a bus lit by just 100s of bullet
holes is even rather beautiful.,... Studio interiors were done in Hungary but
star of the picture is the stand-in town for Priyapat, (where the Chernobyl
workers lived) where a ghost town in Serbia was used to terrific effect.

I saw the first Piranha 3D movie. But only because Kelly Brook was in it. It's too bad she can't be in this one too. Lovely girl!

I'm a little disturbed by the idea that 'Piranha 3DD' is "cheaper" than its predecessor?
Roger Corman once said that a naked woman was cheaper than blowing up a car, but just as effective for the audience, so does it really have more D's, or is it more of a F- really?

I've always wanted to track down a copy of that book Mr Corman wrote about low budget film making. Apparently it's full of tips like: 'Use the same set again and again, just keep painting it between scenes', etc. Legendary!
I like a big blockbuster movie just as much as the next man, but low budget / 'B Movie' film making has always interested me....
