Former Labour MP Margaret Moran is apparently a "broken woman" after being accused of expenses theft.
A judge has said that she doesn't have to attend court because of her fragile mental state when the case goes ahead in November this year.
Asked if Moran might be exaggerating her 'catastrophic reaction' forensic psychiatrist Dr Philip Joseph said it was unlikely. Three psychiatric reports were commissioned and all agreed she was not fit to plead.
I wonder - if she gets off, will she have a miraculous cure like Ernest Saunders who recovered from the incurable Alzheimers?

Perhaps a secure mental hospital would be a good place for her to go until she recovers sufficiently?
It's what her nanny state party would have wanted, after all.

The bastards just don't get it do they?
They robbed and lied and couldn't understand that they were because the regulations allowed them to. Now when one of the lying robbing bastards is asked to be held to account she wriggles and lies to gain sympathy. Sympathy from who? Not me shipmates and that's a fact. She should be thrown in the slammer like the others were.
I think ALL of the bastards should be held to account and though I do not take the Daily Telegraph I salute it for revealling the corruption that was there.

Agree with you Rodders; if anyone of us had done what they did we wouldn't get away with it (as 95% of them did).

Beats me how anyone with a shred of decency could think that claiming expenses for repairs on one home then flipping the two and claiming expenses on the other could be morally justified. If I tried something like that at work I would be told in no uncertain terms that my employer had already paid for something similar and threatened with discipinary action. Even if it never happened I would be held against me at promotion time.
Her fragile state does make me think the country had a luky escape. Imagine if she had been Home Secretary when the riots were taking place, or Chancellor when the banks crashed. Could she have coped?

As I said, I wonder if she recovers if by some misfortune she gets off...

Of course she would not have been able to cope, she was a Labour MP.

She isn't fragile. She's just using this as an excuse to get a lighter sentance. The cheating robbing lying bitch has been found bang to rights and I hope she goes down.
