PORNOCOPIA written about 15 years ago is good about the industry in
the 90s and the technology that was about to change things (so a far-
seeing book.)

Since we are playing a "I am in it" game, then let me add a genuine
history by a top film historian -" DOING RUDE THINGS The History Of The
British Sex Film 1957-1981" is a detailed study of the golden years of
cinema Brit-porn and legends like Harrison Marks and Mary Millington.
Sun Tavern Fields Press 1992. It has a last long chapter on Brit videos.

In the late 80s a book came out called PORN GOLD which was a hugely
detailed and interesting study/history of European Porn upto that time.
Again, many of its predictions, especially that computers and a thing
called the "internet" would force countries like GB to accept porn, also
became a fact. The book is very good at telling you how much money
pornographers like Paul Raymond and David Sullivan were making in
those days.

But it didn't predict that the business would virtually die because of said tinterweb did it ! or at least that because of it, there wouldn't be any money any more in it (producing it anyhows).

Mr Wells, if your theory is correct, no one would be shooting at all, the
producers and crews who read this website would have no work at all
and all of us would be on the dole. Porn continues to offer a living to lot
of people worldwide, from the humble video tech (unheard of 20 years
ago) to the model, from the make-up artist to the stills guy. Brazzers
alone employ 400 staff at their corporate headquarters. And men still
like a wank.

I'm guesstimating, then, that the internet and availability of 'cheap' camcorders has made porn more 'democratic'. Which, of course, has 'plusses' and 'minusses'.

I love the romantic notion of old - school porn barons. But I also love GENUINe amateur filth. To quote Harry Hill: "Fight!"
