sean penn
I see that fine supporter of left-wing causes, the Hollywood movie star, Sean Penn, has been telling the good people of South America how bad the
wicked British are for holding onto the "Malvinas Islands of Argentina".
Since Britain has administered the Falklands for longer than the State of
California has existed, and also longer than Argentina has existed as a
country, I wonder, am I alone in thinking Mr Penn is a complete and utter
prat ?
Re: sean penn
Just seen George Galloway attempting to defend Penn, on 10 o'clock live, on Channel 4.
Unfortunately for him, he hadn't read up or prepared in anyway, prior to the discussion and most of his 'facts' were completely untrue.
Anyone of sane mind who watched it, won't have taken him, or Penn, seriously.
But then again, why would you listen to an actor and a big brother contestant, about sovereignty issues.

Re: sean penn
An utter prat..............your being far too kind.
Re: sean penn
I would say, that we should just ignore our argentinian problem but Man City tried the same thing and Igor still came skulking back yesterday.

Re: sean penn
Very true and I would be most surprised if he was able to point out the Falkland Islands on a map without being helped.

Re: sean penn
Alex, I doubt if any yank could point out the Falklands given the geographical ignorance of the inhabitants of the US.

Re: sean penn
Exactly Rodders, Dubya turned it into an artform but my all time favourite story about such things, comes from listening to the radio one day, it happened to be the Swiss minister for tourism and the lady was explaing proudly about how, after the war, they re-built the city of Schaffhausen in it's original style etc., etc.
To which the interviewer said, but I thought Swizerland was a neutral country and she said (you probably know whats coming) yes, but unfortunately we were bombed by the Americans!

No. His views are idiotic.
Do we know if he is in favour of giving Texas back to the Mexicans?

Re: sean penn
Even more comparable to UK/Falklands non-issue i.e. being far away from each other, what about the US giving back Hawaii, which is a mere 2,500 miles, or maybe Puerto Rico, which is nearer Venezuela, than it is to the US.
