Disabled People Against Cuts

Today in London a group of disabled people chained themselves together and then to railings in protest against goverment welfare cuts, they blocked off the top end of Regent Street from Oxford Circus and totally ignored a police dispersal order and despite it being a very cold day stuck it out for over two hours, with so many media people there the police dare not use any heavy handed tactics so they had to put traffic diversions in place instead, good luck to them i say and here is some film i shot of the protest, and the tasty blonde towards the end was the Sky News reporter !wink!

Those people chained together in their wheelchairs were not students and it was they who were protesting, other people were there to give them support, pity you couldnt find it in yourself to do the same..

Plod have clearly learnt that dragging wheel-chair users across the road isn't such a good idea with too many cameras around. Watch out for legislation allowing confiscation of recording devices at demonstrations.

There's a system in development to stop mobile phone cameras working by sending a blocking signal. It's supposed to be for use in cinemas to stop pirate recordings, but how long do you think plod will take to use this on the streets to stop anyone recording any embarrassing 'Ian Tomlinson' moments that refute their official version of events?
