Neville Lawrence..

I have always felt very sorry for this man, and for his estranged wife aswell, and I was heartened by something he said this week in an interview. He said that he hasn't been able to dance in 18 years because of what happened to his son and the Police's later bungling of the investigation, but he said that now two people have been sent down for the murder he was at a friend's party last weekend and he "danced for the first time in 18 years". It seems that he is now able to move on with his life and start to live again.

He said this week that he left Britain because of fears for his own safety. I was not sure if he meant he felt unsafe because he had become so high profile since the murder of his son and nasty people may want to harm him specifically because of that, or if he meant he felt unsafe as a black person in general just living in Britain. I seem to recall that the Lawrence's are from Plumstead in south-east London, I remember this being said on TV years ago. Plumstead is not far from Eltham where Stephen was murdered. I also recall Neville saying on TV some years ago that he was living in Tottenham years later and was afraid to use the Tube in case someone attacked him on the platfrom and pushed him in front of a train - so it seems likely his desire to leave Britain was specifically to do with him being so high profile more than just being a black person in general living in Britain.

I wish him and Doreen all the best now that those two nasty individuals have been sentenced.

Sadly Neville and Doreen's estrangement is so severe that apparently they didn't exchange a single word right through the trial, even after the verdict.

As for them feeling threatened, I remember filming the family at their home a few years after Stephan's murder. Whilst we were inside, someone put a couple of screwdrivers into the tyres on Neville's car.

If I lived in that area and suffered abuse like that I'd have gone down for GBH or murder unless I was killed first because thats what they'd have to do to stop me going on the rampage.

Those racists are all lilly livered cowards who go round in packs because theyre too pussy to go out on their own to do it.

The ones you really gotta watch out for are the nutty psycho ones. They dont need back up. They just wouldnt hesitate to put a screw driver in your eye just for the fun of it. They dont really hate foreigners. They hate everyone!

Those ones get hunted down first.

I don't know why any person of colour would live in Eltham anyway. Why live in an area where you know the majority of people there are racist and dont want you there? It only makes you hate them and thats a bad way to live. Not exactly a very nice community to live in and nor should you expect a very long lifespan there either.

Im sure the majority of people in Eltham are non decent people. But its one of those places that has the council estate mentality, the bullies and the cunts rule the roost, the rest too scared to say anything.

I read last week that the five original suspects, the two who've been sent down and the other three widely believed to have been involved, do little in the way of work yet live luxurious lives. It was reported they have nice homes, own expensive cars, go on fancy shopping spree's, and enjoy all-day drinking sessions in the pub. This suggests to me that they have strong underworld connections and have large cash incomes from various sources. So these men are very well connected to very heavy people. It would be frightening to know one of them, not just because of who he is and how aggressive he can be, but also because of the associates he has too.
