Hiya,

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... _Magazine/

If you are interested in photojournalism, the above programme is worth a view. Made by the British fashion photographer Rankin, it charts the progress of Life magazine from the 1930's to 1970's. In its heyday the photographs of geniuses like Eisenstaedt and W. Eugene Smith were viewed by half the population of the United States.

Life magazine recorded the epoch-making events of the Second World War, the Vietnam war and the race riots in the Deep South.

Great stuff.

Cheers
D

I am the proud owner of a 1975 edition of, "The Best of Life" containing most of the iconic pics taken from the beginning.

It's a bit dog eared now.

I purchased a load of 1950s/early 60s Life mags in an auction a few years ago and sold them individually on ebay when they became 50 years old, people buy them if they correspond with their birth dates or as presents for others, so if you come across any old ones grab them as they are worth a bit !wink!
