The 'real BNP supporters'...

As we are having a discussion about race on here, on the Stephen Lawrence Trail thread that I started, I thought I would post a video I found on YouTube. I think this woman has some interesting things to say, about how people are slammed as 'racist' for anything, yet when those who would be catagorised on a census form as 'ethnic minority' make distinctions, it is ok. This video has been watched by over 1 million people and over 250,000 people have commented on it on YouTube. People's comments please. It is only two and a half minutes long:

"People's comments please"

Her views are reasonably articulate and emotional crap. I note she doesnt reference Nick Griffin's conviction for denying the holocaust.

In the article above on the Black Mental Health UK website, Zephaniah Samuels (3 December 2010: IPCC report highlights need for action over deaths in police custody) said, ?This report shows that over one-third of cases in which a Black detainee died occurred in circumstances in which police actions may have been a factor, this rises to almost one-half if the cases of accidental death where the police were present compared with only 4% of cases where the detainee was White.

The above link explains why the Black Police Officers Association was set up to support the findings of the Stephen Lawrence enquiry.

In short, why do UK billionaires not form a trade union or association? They are doing very well thank you Max.

Why do black people sometimes get involved in a Black Police Officers association? Because they were deemed to be at a disadvantage in terms of treatment by an organisation viewed "institutionally racist" and decided to try and support/defend each other. Those who are treated badly purely because of the colour of their skin may defend themselves via an assoication. Those workers in teaching who want to defend their pension rights, join a trade union, black, white, pink, brown, maroon, polka dot to defend themselves.

Most interesting and I am amused to see that even the great and super-
articulate David Johnson condescended to admit that this lady was
"articulate". So kind of you, David.
Truth is she is very good at articulating something that is actually quite
difficult to put into words without sounding arrogant, pretentious or
unduly emotional - and that is love of race and love of country. She rather
interestingly argues her point from a working class and socialist viewpoint
(and it would be wise of us not to forget that this was Hitler`s strong
point too, the Nazis were "National Socialists").
Sadly, for this lady, and many others who hold nationalist views, their
parties, be they BNP, National Front or whatever, attract extremist thugs.
Hitler was able to develop his brownshirt hooligans only because the
German Communists were also picking for a fight. But currently in UK the
nationalists have no party to polarise against or demonise.
Should a politician ever arise here with great media savvy, and public
speaking skills, and should he/she chose to use nationalism to obtain
power, then we may yet see a revival.

No need to take the piss, you know, Frank. Something I would never do! !wink!

I also noted that in her impassioned speech stating how the BNP weren't racist etc, she didn't mention that until recently when the BNP was forced to change its constitution, the constitution stated that they wanted to return the racial makeup of the UK to that of 1948 i.e. before the influx of West Indians and Asians.

Some might think this a racist constitution. I couldn't possibly comment.

There's something inherently dubious about the 'blut und boden' ideology though isn't there ?

Arguably, in reality, a lot of people might well agree with Terry Collier's POV in The Likely Lads:

"I bet we could go right round the world and you'd have a pat response ready."
"I've travelled man, I've seen a bit of the world now you know."
"What do you think of Koreans, for instance?"
"Not to be trusted. Cruel people. Much the same as all Orientals."
"That's a third of the world's population dismissed in a phrase. Russians?"
"Sinister."
"Egyptians?"
"Cowardly."
"Oh? I thought you might have saved that for Italians."
"No, no, they're greasy aren't they? Not as greasy as the French mind."
"Germans?"
"Arrogant."
"Spaniards?"
"Lazy."
"Danes?"
"Pornographic."
"Well that's just about everyone. Oh, Americans?"
"Well, they're flash aren't they?"
"So it's just down to the British is it?"
"Well, I haven't got much time for the Irish or the Welsh, and the Scots are worse than the Koreans."
"And you never could stand Southerners."
"To tell you the truth I don't like anybody much outside this town. And there's a lot of families in our street I can't stand either. Come to think of it I don't even like the people next door."
"I see, so from the distant blue Pacific through the barren wastes of Manchuria, to 127 Inkerman Terrace, you can't abide anyone."

She also fails to understand how power in an organisation which could be said to be institutionally racist would disadvantage some but not others. If you're part of the disadvantaged group why wouldn't you want to try to do something to protect your interests ?

I think if people look down on others simply because they are a differnt race to them, then that is clearly out of order and anyone doing it is a very bad person. People back in the 1950s and 60s often didn't want neighbours or staff members in their business of a differnt race. How can that be justified? It is pure bigotry.

I do think that people have a point, and are justified in their opposition, if people feel their way of life, language and culture, is under threat though - and they speak up against that. I personally have a real issue over the fact you barely hear English spoken in the street or on a bus in London now, and I can't even remember the last time I had a neighbour who had English as a first language - either whilst living where I currently do, in my last place, or the place before that. That is not a situation that is acceptable.

Also, when that mad leftie Ken Livingstone was the Mayor of this city, he wanted to commission the building of Europe's largest mosque in London. Luckily this wasn't granted. When one sees a situation where the building of huge cathedrals is seen as fine in Saudi Arabia, and when one goes on holiday to Paris or Berlin, and hears few people speaking French or German (respectively) in those cities, and that is fine, then I will view it as something to be considered if someone claimed to me that I am out of order for being annoyed at how English is spoken by few people in this city now, and the fact Christian buildings aren't viewed as being those which should always be the dominant ones here. Not until then though.

Did anyone watch the Sunday morning live debate yesterday (it has Susanah Reid so any red blooded male should tune in!)? It was interesting to see several prominent people actually scared to discuss race in any shape or form. You cannot stop racism, it is tribal. Condone it no, encourage no, but to stop you would need Fascism or some other forced system of government.
