Since when did her majestys rozzers use baseball bats? A bit unorthodox don't you think?



And why does it take 6 officers with baseball bats to engage two men in a car???

I could understand if they were listening to NWA's "Fuck Tha Police" but Tracy Chapman is hardly hard core and offensive is it? And why did the article choose to mention the music that was blaring out of the car? Doesnt seem relevant to me unless it was something by 2Pac of course

The police look like they are really in charge of that situation don't you think?

Can someone say something to justify the action you see in the article?

Just for the record, I'm not a police hater in general but seeing some of the things theyve been getting up to as of late is making me wonder what they are really all about

They love the power,they always have and always will. Im sure there are decent cops out there,but id say the majority are on a power trip and love humiliating people.

I don't really understand why they filmed it other than as a trophy to remind themselves how hard they are in a 6 with baseball bats v 1 standoff.

The Daily Mail comforts its readers by pointing out that the officers' hunch about stolen property was a good one because the suspect was convicted of handling stolen goods. Whether this was the car I somehow doubt.

Its was stated in the article:

"They were even accused of doctoring the film by overlaying the music to Tracey Chapman's hit Fast Car onto it but they claimed the song happened to be blaring out from a nearby car stereo."

Actually they had overlaid the Tracy Chapman over the track below which had been blarring out of the victims' car, to spare their fellow officers, "Undue distress" during the investigation. The occupants of the vehicle in question had been on their way to a "Gay Pride" march, when they were approached and requested to turn off the song blarring from their vehicle, as it was upstetting other drivers. The occupants refused, wound up the windows and turned the offending music to full volume, the officers then took appropriate steps to avoid a breach of the peace.

Isn't that Shane Warne in the Scooch video? I suppose with Eurovision being held in April, he took a bit of spare time off his cricketing duties to be part of a gay anthem, but he's not really British is he? I wonder what Liz thought of it all?

Next time the riots verge on civil war you'll know why.

The people ousted Saddam. They ousted Gadaffi. Keep taking the piss they wil l start ousting a lot more people closer to home.

The recent savagery of the riots is a clear indicator that the people are close to not taking the shit meted out to them with the banks, the recession, the cuts, the pension situation.

Its just a matter of time before there is something the equivalent of the russian revolution and when the authorities start shooting their own people you might as well count the days till its game over.

The police should do what they are supposed to do and uphold the law. They dont need to behave like this

I can understand the police are put in difficult positions and have to make tough decisions well...that comes with the job. Suck it up and get on with it. they knew what they signed on for when they joined the force.

I've got a lot of respect for soldiers and the good police folk. I see a lot of them in my neighbourhood and would be quick to jump in and help them if they needed it but every one of those coppers in that incident need to be punished for participating in that hooliganish behaviour

They appear to be no worse than the criminals they are trying to catch and even worse.

I'm still trying to figure out if baseball bats are police issue
