He won't be fired from the cabinet or even be pressured to resign. He is a big hitter in the Lib Dems (which says it all really) and the coalition needs him in the cabinet.

Obviously if he is found guilty things may change, but I wouldn't put too much money on him going before a Tory.

I think you are completely wrong. If Huhne is charged and found guilty, he will be done for a conspiring to pervert the course of justice charge. This is often a jail offence.

If he is found guilty, he will be toast as far as the Cabinet is concerned and this is beyond question.

THe only issue is whether a charge will be brought.
