Jim Slip - a little obsessed by me?

Jim Slip

In a separate thread you posted

"David presents a very worrying picture of those that would be involved in any future New Labour governments." to which I replied

I hope you are not too "worried" Jimbo. Can I just say I doubt very much if I will be "involved in future New Labour governments" . But if I do become Home Secretary, you will be the first to know, Jimbo. !wink!

Your response, an extract from which appears below leads me to ask the question

Jim, are you not getting a little obsessed with me?

Cheers
D

suddenly realised that David Johnson's intolerance of other people's views and opinions is extremely worrying. Read his veiled threats to me in his posts like, "If I become Home Secretary, you will be the first to know."

I am sure I will Comrade!

The terrifying prospect is that David Johnson may represent the future and maybe present, New Labour activist. Can you imagine some time in the future, where New Labour has a massive landslide victory and they are tightening their grip on peoples thoughts and opinions, how easily David Johnson fits in to this nightmare world.

Does anyone doubt for a moment, that if David as an activist, were permitted, that he and his fellow activists would not for a second consider that it was reasonable to question and interrogate anyone who had NOT voted for New Labour in the election? After all this is what he does on here ALL THE TIME, questions and interrogates.

He interrogates and acts as inquisitor to all who dare have a different opinion to his. Can you not imagine him banging on the front door of a Tory voter and sitting accross the kitchen table, with a henchman standing close by, asking the voter to detail exactly why he voted Tory? Can you not imagine David quietly, but firmly suggesting to the Tory voter, why he may be "wrong?" Can you not imagine, David johnson, having the hapless voter, brought in for re-education?

I can easily imagine it. Look at the menace and aggression that he aims at me, for having the affront to, "Beg to differ" a concept that he simply cannot comprehend.

On the BGAFD, deny it it or not, scoff or not, DJ behaves like the Communist Party activists of Stalins Russia, Mao's Red China and Pol Pot's Cambodia. In these regimes, political dissent was not tolerated. Anyone who disagreed would be brought in for, what they used to call, "Re-education" and if this didn't work, they were simply tortured.

They too couldn't understand that some people chose to, "Beg to differ."

Like all fundamentalists, DJ is so convinced that his ideals and views are correct, that he must quiz, interrogate and, re-educate anyone who disagrees. Does anyone for a second not believe that if DJ could have the BGAFD admin remove all forummites who offered resistance to his views, that he would not do so in a second?

David Johnson is a fundamentalist fanatic. Totalitarian regimes throughout history have relied on thousands of such people to administer their brutality to those who had to live under them.

God help us if New Labour have a large number of fanatics like this lurking in the wings. When I was a Labour Party member, everyone was like the cast of Time Team, all quite gentle and affable, haranguing was left to the Tories. I fear that this may have all changed.

It certainly seems that way to me.

The only issue I have with David Johnson is with his tactics of bullying, patronising and insulting others who do not agree with him.

He is a fundamentalist, New Labour fanatic......period. I have nothing more discuss with this lunatic.

Unusually short of words, Jim Slip, given your message which I quote from was a page of non-stop insults.

"Self-obsessed madman"

Well, you didn't include that insult in your non-stop diatribe so at least I should be glad for some originality, I guess.

Damn Jim you make him sound worse than SAYITREAL who must've been worse cos he got kicked off for it.

If David was as bad as that, he'd have been kicked off too, surely

Personal insults and threats are not Davids forte to my mind so not sure how you see him as a bully.

What I saw on the the other thread was the complete opposite. Everyone ganging up on him can be construed as him being bullied

I fail to see your reasoning

Well here we are. About a week later and no reply to your post, OEJ.

What a surprise!

Jim Slip has two different methods of dealing with those that dare to disagree with him, not just the "lunatics" like myself.

1. Ignore the post.

2. Reply with a stream of insults that totally ignore the content of the post being replied to.

Case proven.

David, you're a tad guilty of the first one yourself, aren't you?

i.e. ignoring posts/posters

and

you may, or may not, directly insult people, but you definitely patronise them, as you have admitted in another post.
So you could say that you may bring some of the insults on yourself. Though not the threats and the really 'beyond the pale' insults.

Maybe Jimslip is busy, maybe he's on holiday or maybe, he's keeping to his word and having no more to with you, as he said on this thread.

You clearly don't like each other and yet you both seem to badger each other into conflict, goading the other when they haven't even posted for days/weeks.

I think you both know who is of a similar mind to you on this forum. Why not just chat and discuss with them and leave your respective arch-nemesis' alone.

"David, you're a tad guilty of the first one yourself, aren't you?

I don't think so. Anyone who disagrees with my views and posts in reply to one of my messages, I respond to. It is entirely people's prerogative to disagree with me. As it is mine to have a differing view.

Off the top of my head, the only messages I haven't responded to are just a stream of ignorant insults where I have taken the view that I can't be bothered because there is nothing to reply to.

"you may, or may not, directly insult people, but you definitely patronise them, as you have admitted in another post."

As you state, I have already said that myself. You omit to point out that I also stated at the same time that I do this when responding to insults or when people have been patronising me. Treat my views with some respect and I have no problem with responding in kind.

"Maybe Jimslip is busy, maybe he's on holiday"

Even if either of those scenarios are true, that hasn't stopped him posting in the last few days on the Promotions forum and this forum on other topics.

"or maybe, he's keeping to his word and having no more to with you, as he said on this thread"

My message today which you are responding to, is about the fact that he has not replied to OEJ's post which was directly aimed at Jim Slip.

"I think you both know who is of a similar mind to you on this forum. Why not just chat and discuss with them and leave your respective arch-nemesis' alone."

I think it would get a bit tedious if the only discussions that occurred on this forum were between people who agreed. I don't see what is wrong with people disagreeing with each other. What is wrong is issuing a stream of insults at someone simply because they have a different view to one's own.

I am a little surprised that you, Bamboo, are espousing people only chatting with "those of a similar mind to you" given that every one of your posts on this forum apart from one, are critical of myself. Like this one for example, directed at myself

"I'd pay to see that. You chopping yourself up into little pieces.
Give me a shout if you need a hand with those last, little, awkward chunks of flesh. "

Cheers

Well you did threaten violence, albeit tongue in cheek violence, on halfwits who post on the internet.
You know very well my comment was equally tongue in cheek, but you seem to have not quoted the last bit of my post, where I reference The Silence of the Lambs, making it obvious it was a good humoured dig.
Not a threat against your being, as you've just made out.

You can discuss things with people Dave, not an issue.
Best of friends discuss and disagree all the time, but clearly you and Jim have passed that 'just a disagreement' line long ago.

You say it would be tedious if everyone agreed.
Trust me, it's a feck of a lot more tedious watching you two claw each other's eyes out on every other thread.
Deuce Bigolo refers to it as 'the david and jim show' on this very thread.
Another poster asked you both to 'get a room'.
It's not just me.

It seems, for now at least, that Jim no longer wishes to partake in the tedious back and forth with you, leave him be.

Oh and for me at least, you don't have to intersperse your reply with bits of my post, that you're replying/referring to.

Now then, more importantly, what are your thoughts on the fact that the apple harvest is approx. one month early this year.
Perhaps a portent indicating Liverpool is going to win the Premiership this season?

Hugs and kisses
